Life Changes (I Think This Blog Might Change Into My Personal Diary)

Okay, maybe not my personal diary. There are some things I like to keep to myself, ya know?

Yes, it has been a while since I last posted (who is really keeping up anyways?) and I have a pretty darn good explanation for it.

My year has just been insane. I still can't believe all the stuff that has happened and I know it'll probably take a while to process.

The beginning of the year (January, February, March) had it's drama, the petty and stupid kind. I even landed a second job at a restaurant, which wasn't the most desirable.

Then things really started getting crazy.

In the middle of April, I got into an accident where the family car that we had for years and years and that I even learned how to drive with (gift from my deceased uncle, R.I.P Uncle M) was totaled (no one was hurt, thank God). And, no, the accident wasn't my fault. The lady who hit me claimed that she didn't see me, driving distracted and speedily in a shopping center parking lot. Even though I was completely pissed at the lady, she hugged me and told me it was all a part of God's plan (which I'm STILL trying to figure out).

It was a bigger devastation than I thought, but what came out of it was something I'm starting to come to terms with. My sister and I had shared the car and it wasn't always easy, even messing up our relationship a bit. Now, she has her own car. I did have my own car for a while and was put in a lot of debt for it, but then something unfortunate happened and I lost it. I'll get to that in a second.

In May, I graduated community college and received my Associate's degree. Hooray! *throw some confetti here*  It was supposed to only take two years and yet it took me almost four. Don't know if I'm ashamed of that or if I should just be proud that I persevered. I choose the latter.

I struggled as graduation came closer not just academically, but emotionally as well. It was a constant battle to keep grades up while having personal drama being shoved in my face. I also was coming to terms with saying "goodbye" to a place where I actually felt like I belonged. People knew me on campus and I had an awesome job working with amazing instructors. I got to interact with them in a way people normally wouldn't. At one point I even had to step up and be in somewhat in a leadership position for the department I was working for. That's a different story.

Before I knew it, graduation day had arrived. I felt so incredibly special that night. I was put in the front of the line of many graduates because I was in the choir and needed to be close to the front for our performances. I will never forget how nervous I was and how fast my heart was beating as we were led into the huge event center by bagpipe players. I found my friends and family in the crowd and I started feeling excited instead. There was a super long speech and I thought I wasn't going to graduate that night since it just seemed to go on forever. Finally, the speech ended and I found myself in the first line to receive a degree. The head of the department I worked for was announcing us and she gave me a hug as I walked up on stage. When my name was called, people cheered loudly. One of the best moments of my life. It was an unexpected, but wonderful surprise. I was so surprised that I didn't even get a good picture with the president (my head was down). He also laughed and said, "wow, you've got quite the fan club."

The high of graduation was short lived unfortunately.

I had this amazing car, my very first car that I was so incredibly proud of that I bought in April days after losing our car. It was like a fresh start after a stressful and sad event. I even remember driving down to my best friend's house the night I bought it to show her and tell her the news. We were both in shock, but we were so happy cruising around. I came up with a name for the car and made it my own.

I barely had it for over a month before I was in an accident at the end of May.

The morning of the accident started out as usual. I dropped off my sister at work and headed home with hopes of going back to bed. Cars were lined up just before the turn into my neighborhood, traffic from a train (which is always super annoying). I was one car away from turning into my neighborhood, one car away from my cozy bed where I just wanted to sleep a little more before my shift at work, one car away from my day just being another normal day.

Tapping the steering wheel in time to a song on the radio and reading the bumper stickers/plate of the car in front of me out of complete boredom, I waited for the line to move up so I could finally turn into my neighborhood and go home.

BAM! BAM!

My car was suddenly propelled forward and I was shoved into the steering wheel, watching in complete horror and disbelief as the hood of my car bent upwards towards my face.

And I thought it would all be over and okay after the accident in April....

To Be Continued.....

Since this post is long enough as is.
